Room to Give Thanks: Recognizing Viridian's Community Heroes

Room to Give Thanks: Recognizing Viridian's Community Heroes

Thanksgiving Day is approaching, and there is no better time to show our gratitude to the residents, partners and builders who made Viridian a top-selling master-planned community in the nation!

A master-planned community is more than just its residents – it is a community made whole by the contributions of professionals, volunteers, staff, and everyday citizens. We’d like to share our gratitude with the folks who make Viridian such an amazing place to thrive together.

The Hearts Behind “Helping Hands” in Elements at Viridian

Organizers Robin and Jane say it best, “Our purpose is to help improve the life of any resident in Elements who is suffering.”

Helping Hands is an organization within the community that exists to assist and bring cheer! If a resident of our 55+ active adult community is going through a tough time, Helping Hands can make life a little easier and brighter for them. Teams provide meals, rides, visitation, handyman services, and more to residents. New alliance groups will start in the next couple of months, providing support, information, and inspiration for folks who have chronic health issues, are caregivers, or are experiencing grief or a major transition. Thank you to Robin and Jane for being the best neighbors Elements at Viridian could ask for!

Heroes of Health and Comradery

Another core social club within the community, The Viridian Sportsman is a co-ed group for adults that is the epicenter for all things sports, gaming, traveling, and social gatherings in the community. They provide unified awareness of all Viridian social clubs to ensure individuals looking for comradery can be easily accessible and ultimately feel welcomed. Thank you for making all residents feel welcome while pursuing a healthy and fun lifestyle!

A Village of Heroes

“It takes a village… let us be yours.”

In this club’s first year of being founded, they have gone above and beyond to provide playdates, social events, and a support system for the families of Viridian! They have numerous ambassadors that host age-specific events around the community and take trips off-site for unique experiences. Their Facebook group not only promotes their events but provides an outlet for communication and a way for the moms to share or swap items based on the children’s ages. Thank you to Moms of Viridian for being such an amazing support system – we look forward to watching you grow further!

Lifestyle Directors

Fun resident events wouldn’t be the same without the serious work of our lifestyle directors. From resident holiday celebrations to public events and everything in between, we can’t thank the lifestyle directors enough for all they do to make life in Viridian exciting, fun, and full of joy.

Best. Firehouse. Ever.

We love our firefighters, and it’s no secret that we’re partial to the members of Fire Station 17. The station opened in June 2019 and has been serving the Viridian community ever since.

Keeping Elements Residents Connected and Positive

John Smith is an Elements resident-turned volunteer.

John Smith

This resident-turned-volunteer has lived in Elements at Viridian since March of 2020. John says, “Purchasing in Elements has been a very rewarding experience connecting with the many positive and out-going residents.” He volunteers in two important functions: maintaining the resident Directory and managing the community-wide communication app, Slack. Thank you, John, for your innovative use of Slack to bring residents closer together with a platform that brings positivity and connectivity to the Elements community!

Teachers are Heroes Too

Parents and guardians happily walk their children into Viridian Elementary.

We recently held a “Best of Viridian” survey for even more resident input on our favorite community heroes, and the votes are in: the teachers and staff at Viridian Elementary are the heroes we all needed! Residents say, “They all are welcoming spirits.”

A special thank you to:

  • Coach Lauren
  • Mrs. Armstead
  • Mrs. Conner, Pre-K
  • Ms. Elliott
  • Mrs. Bunten
  • Miss Stephanie at Children's Lighthouse
