We’ve got sails and sales at Viridian, and both have helped us sail onto the prestigious RCLCO list of the “Top 50 Master-planned Communities” in the nation for the first time.
The Washington, D.C.-based national real estate consulting company has conducted a national survey identifying the top-selling MPCs since 1994. The rankings are based on the number of homes sold the previous year, but the company also releases a mid-year update based on sales to date. Viridian came in at No. 49 with 158 sales so far.
There are many reasons for this strong showing, but RCLCO reports two factors that characterize the top communities.
The first is a wide variety of home designs with moderately priced homes targeting millennials and empty-nesters. The second factor is an emphasis on “community connectedness.”
The top communities have amenities that allow residents to make meaningful connections to their surrounding environment. These communities offer opportunities for residents to meet each other through shared public spaces such as walking paths, community centers with planned events and exercise studios.
Viridian offers all of these amenities plus a few unique extras, including the Viridian Sailing Center. The center provides state-of-the-art RS sailboats to residents and the public, as well as sailing courses and children’s camps. The Viridian Lake Club, a 6-acre peninsula overlooking the lake, offers opportunities for fun in the sun with four pools, a pavilion, small amphitheater and event center. Residents also have opportunities to meet up at beautiful parks and a trail system that connects to existing River Legacy trails.
As an Audubon International “Gold Signature Sanctuary,” our community also is committed to preserving and enhancing wildlife. In fact, 50 percent of Viridian will remain wetlands, lakes and open space for people to enjoy for years to come.
All of which makes us a pretty spectacular community with easy access to downtown Dallas and downtown Fort Worth, so we aren’t surprised we made the list. Just one visit and you will understand why we made it as well!
