Viridian Names New Community Manager

Tami Smith has been tapped by the Viridian Residential Association to be the community manager of master-planned Viridian.

Smith will be responsible for increasing homeowner involvement and continuing the family-friendly atmosphere of the Arlington community, as well as nurturing ongoing relationships with neighborhood schools, area businesses and the Arlington Chamber of Commerce.

“I am incredibly grateful for this new opportunity,” Smith said. “I love Viridian. Everyone says ‘Hi’ to each other and knows their neighbors. There are parks and green spaces and water just down the street, regardless of where you live in the neighborhood. Parents feel confident that their children can walk to school safely. It just has such a comfortable feel to it.”

Smith joined CCMC, which manages Viridian’s association, in August of 2016 as a community manager in their Plano office. Before that she managed a portfolio of 10 Houston-area communities comprising more than 8,000 homes for FirstService Residential Inc.

She is recognized as a Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) by the Community Association Managers International Certification Board (CAMICB) and as an Association Management Specialist (AMS) by the Community Associations Institute (CAI).

“Tami is going to be a great asset to our community,” said Robert Kembel, general manager of Viridian. “She has a strong background in operations management and so much energy and enthusiasm.”

Smith said she hopes to enhance community involvement and make sure there are many family-friendly activities that appeal to all ages and demographics. She also will ensure that all neighborhood amenities, present and future, are well maintained.

“I see so many possibilities here,” Smith said. “I like the fact that there are multiple amenities that draw people together. Also, maintaining green space is important to the developer and the emphasis on preserving natural areas appeals to me. It shows the investment of the developers in the quality of the environment. When Viridian is complete, I believe it will be one of the premier places to live in the country.”
