COVID Update: Viridian Resident/Guest Policy

Due to COVID19, Viridian will be implementing changes to the pool attendance policy for the safety of our residents and pool monitors. The pools will open with a limited capacity for RESIDENTS ONLY.  Pool capacity will be at 25 percent. In order to give all residents an opportunity to enjoy the pools, while maintaining safe social distancing, we are establishing five 2-hour time slots for 100 residents per slot each day at the main pool and 25 residents per time slot at the salt water pool. Entrance into the pool for each time slot is on a first-come-first-serve basis. Once 100 residents (or 25 at the salt water pool) have entered, no more will be allowed for that time period. If that time slot is NOT full, and someone comes an hour later, they may swim, but only until the time period ends. ALL residents will enter through the main gate off the patio. Viridian access cards are required. Our pool monitors will put a wristband on each swimmer. Again, NO GUESTS will be allowed this year, and there will be NO cabana rentals. To eliminate time-consuming sanitizing procedures that would cut into your swimming time, we have removed the lounge cushions and placed the chairs at a 6-foot distance around the pool, ALL CHAIRS AND DECK CHAIRS MUST REMAIN WHERE THEY ARE. There will be an hour between each swim time slot to allow for sanitizing and cleaning bathrooms. Anything left behind at the pool will be thrown away immediately. Grills will not be available this year due to the shortened time for swimming. Once your swim time is over, we are asking you to leave by the gate near the bathrooms, where a monitor will remove your wrist band.

Viridian Pool Rules

Pool time slots: Sunday-Saturday:

8:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m.

11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

2:00-4:00 p.m.

5:00-7:00 p.m.

8:00-10:00 p.m.

The hour time frame in between the available times will be used for sanitation and no residents will be permitted in the pool are during this time.

 

The established pool rules will remain in effect and are included below:

  • Residents are responsible to know, understand and follow the rules. Should your access card fail to work, you will need to bring it to the VRA office (Mon-Sat 8-5).
  • Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18.
  • Only attire specifically manufactured for swimming may be worn while in the pool (no cutoff jeans, dark-colored T-shirts, non-swim shorts, exercise pants or sandals, etc.).
  • No running, climbing on the rocks, horseplay or loud and unruly conduct. Be considerate with your language, actions and radios. Radios deemed too loud by the monitors must be turned down or off.
  • No food or drink allowed in the pool water.
  • No tobacco products or electronic cigarettes are allowed in the pool or pool area.
  • NO glass containers of any kind or breakables are allowed in the pool area at any time, year-round.
  • No bicycles, roller blades, skateboards, scooters, etc. are allowed in the pool area.
  • The saltwater infinity pool is residents 21 and over ONLY. (You will need to show an ID. You may put a photo of your license on your phone.) This is the ONLY pool where alcohol may be consumed. NO glass containers are allowed.
  • Obey the monitors at all times. They have the authority to remove anyone disobeying the rules or endangering the safety of themselves and others. PLEASE NOTE: Check-in policies have changed due to COVID 19, so it is even more vital that you comply with anything the monitors ask of you.
  • Residents should immediately report any incident to a monitor in which a person has urinated, defecated or thrown up in or around the pool so necessary steps can be taken to cleanse the water.
  • Procedure for thunder: Pool monitors will inform residents they MUST exit the water for 30 minutes. (The time restarts for each thunder clap.)
  • Procedure for lightning: Pool monitors will inform residents they MUST exit the fenced pool area for 30 minutes. (Again, the clock resets with each lightning strike.)
  • Swim at your own risk.
  • No swimming is allowed unless a pool monitor is on duty.
  • Parents and/or guardians are responsible for their children at all times. Pool monitors are on-site, but are not watching your children. Children who cannot swim must have a responsible adult supervising and within arm’s reach at all times. This rule applies even when the child is wearing a Coast Guard approved floatation device.
  • Children who are not potty-trained must wear rubber pants with elasticized waist and legs over diapers when in the water or wear water diapers.
  • NO diving is allowed at any time in any pool. NO climbing on/jumping off or diving off the rocks is allowed. (Nearly 90 percent of all pool-related spinal injuries occur in shallow water.)
  • Pool gates are to be closed at all times. You may not open the gate for anyone. All residents MUST use their own pool access cards to enter pool area.
  • Respect those using the lap lanes for swimming laps. Hanging on the ropes dividing the lanes is prohibited.
